The ignorance of people just amazes me. "Memorial day is just a bogus holiday" ?
" I have been out of school for 15 years, and forgot the meaning" ?
I have no words for these folks, and the slap in the face they just gave to those who fought and died for freedom. Why don't they go to a national cemetary and just spit on the graves while they are at it.

Because the lights were never on.
My wife had to teach on Memorial Day because it was a "snow makeup day." But the district policy is that Martin Luther King day is sacrosanct and must be observed without exception. Something is seriously messed up there. Whatever one thinks of Martin Luther King, neither he nor anyone else carries more weight on the scale than the people Memorial Day was designed to honor.
