We have been doing so darn much around the estate that its easier for me to show you in pictures instead of writing it all out....so here we go:
The cucumber seeds that my fellow Angel "Sandy" sent me, have exploded:
Our first attempt at corn has been okay, and it has come in nicely
Until this past Tuesday night when we were hit with about 6 inches of rain in an hour and had some flash flooding through the garden. My Uncle is the oracle of gardening and said not to worry that it would stand back up on its own. It is to a point, but we do have some stalks that are just simply ruined:
Our neighbor let their cows out in this pasture behind our house, and they came up for a visit:
The boys baseball team won the "south division" and went to the championship game. but sad to say we lost. However, our coach is also the coach of the All-Star team and asked NW ( the oldest) to play on the team. We go to the All-Star tournament for 9-10 year olds in two weeks, and have been practicing 4 out of 7 days.
Between baseball and gardening, Senior built the Jersey Giants a new coop and we got it painted:

Holy crap, I had time to post a response. Not bad for having $50 in the coop. Recycling works. Hey, not here to win awards but I will say the giants stayed high and dry when we got hammered by that storm the other night. Also, we are getting almost 4 dozen eggs a week, how many eggs is every one else getting, especially with the avian flu messing with egg prices.
ReplyDeleteJUGM,
ReplyDeleteOMG look at your cucumbers......they've taken off nicely. Are you getting ready to make pickles? Yes, your corn will stand back up. One year we had to build a trellis to help the corn stand....it actually worked, lol.....
Congratulations to your boys on winning the south division and getting to play the ALL Starts!!! Great looking coop, we love using recycled material anytime we can.
Sending hugs and love to you, Senior, and your Boys.
Sandy
Senior, the boys and the chickens LOVE the cucumbers.... They are awesome. He just said those are the best cukes he has seen in a while. More and more the corn is standing back up..we just have too much of it to do a trellis and such. But Senior did make some good tomatoe cages with landscape fence. I will show those in another post. Hope you guys are well...hugs and love sent ur way

Hugs to you and Jam hope all is well with you guys
I don't see how you keep up with it all. However you and Senior Chief do it, you seem to keep the family on an even keel.
ReplyDeleteWell its not always easy Harry...lol I guess we just take it all in stride.
