Seniors Class Ring..Part 2

Today, after weeks of anticipation...Senior finally got his class ring. The nice gentleman that found it 22 years ago, delivered it personally to him. He had kept it wrapped in a tarnish free bag, and it looks as good as the day he first got it. Senior has been over come with emotion, as his mother bought it for  him  and she passed away 3 years ago.

We are thankful that there are still nice people in this world, and for the stranger that never gave up looking for the rightful owner. In this world of bad news, and bad people its good to see a happy ending.

This is why you need to always carry a compass, a map, and a well stocked backpack full of survival gear, especially after reading that food sources were scarce. And why you  should have a decent survival weapon, because what if you ran in to some bad guys on the run, or for God sakes...Bigfoot in that Oregon Forest.

Family Found After Being Lost for 6 Days...

Saturday.....

It’s a day when there is so much news going on, that you have no idea what to write about. So I choose my recent ramblings,. Yesterday we drove up to Georgia and off the grid to a backwoods butcher, and got a hog. This morning we ate ourselves silly on fresh bacon, sausage and eggs.  We also bought T-bone steaks , and it was the first time ever I saw a butcher cut them fresh. I also got ground meat, and can’t decide on tacos or spaghetti tonight for our supper.

Today is the day Senior is supposed to finally meet up with the gentleman who found his class ring. Its mid morning and no phone call yet from him. I really choose not to wait around all day on this person, but it looks like we will have to.

What I SHOULD be doing, is working on my sisters scrapbook, her 50^th surprise party is next Saturday, and I still have about 4 pages left to complete. I know it will be a wonderful party, but honestly I will be happy when its over. My brother n law is driving me nuts, I have done the load of planning, but I know he and my niece will get the Kudos. With him in attendance, and my parents, I have told senior I am buying a flask to keep in my pocket, so I can sneak a shot now and then.  I have promised a post just for Kymber with pictures of the pages I did, so be looking out for that this week.

Boys are in their bedroom wrecking it with toys, batman and Robin are destroying Joker and Penguin. Luke, Han solo, and Chewbacca have come in on the Millennium Falcon to help out Batman..

I sat and read through my favorite blogs, SCIFICHICK  has a great one this morning, stop in and check it out.
Bacon and Eggs

Laundry is calling my name, so is vacuuming, and dusting, and picking up the house, changing bed sheets, and a hot shower…..So its off to enjoy the rest of my Saturday…Hope you all will as well….

Thank You Lord for letting me have two cups of coffee under my belt, before I warmed up the PC and turned it on to DRUDGE... But in the name of all things holy did this have to be the  opening picture!  I feel I should now go disinfect my corneas as this picture is forever scorched on to them.....Blahhhhhhhh...ick-ity yackkkkkk.  I am thinking Nancy looks like she needs a cigerette after that kiss, I wonder what is going through her mind...

Welcome New Followers

My First Official Loaf

With the arrival of our new grain mill, and cases of purchased wheat berries from the nice "sister" at the LDS Cannery, I got down to business yesterday whipped out the LDS recipe guide and made my first loaf of home made bread. I have used the boxed mixes before, but this was the first time for grinding our own wheat

We did a half and half mixture of white all purpose flour and hard white wheat

Mixed all ingrediants and kneeded it on a lightly oiled surface, and let it rise.Until it doubled

Shaped it in to a loaf pan

And baked it on 350 for 35 minutes and the results:

WERE DELICIOUS!!!!!!!

It was so good that Senior ate about 4 slices with our dinner last night. And both boys asked for more.

Now I am ready to try some other varieties of bread...   

Self Guided Bullet

Scientists patent self-guided bullet

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Engineers at Sandia National Laboratories have invented a bullet that guides itself to the target.

Sandia has wide expertise at miniature technology, and the bullet works like a tiny guided missile.

The patented design doesn't shoot straight. Instead of a spiral rotation, the bullet twists and turns to guide itself towards a laser directed point. It can make up to thirty corrections per second while in the air. 

 Jim Jones, distinguished member of technical staff, and his team of engineers at Sandia Labs think the .50-caliber bullets would work well with military machine guns so soldiers could hit their mark faster and with precision.

"We've tested gunpowders to see if we can get muzzle velocity for military interest," Jones said. "We've tested various electronic components to see if they would survive the launch."

The team needs a sponsor to take the prototype and manufacture it on a commercial scale. Research and development grants have taken the project this far.

Jones says it's about halfway through being fully developed for commercial use.
