Saturday...

Today is December 7th. A day for reflection and to remember those who gave their life at Pearl Harbor. If you get a chance, just stop and give a moment of silence...let us never forget.

Also for us it is the Liberty Bells ( Libby) 1st Birthday. We first  thought to name her "Pearl" given her special birthday, but I looked at our Safe, and really like "Liberty" All though throughout the year she has been given many names : "Princess of Poo", " Libbidy McFibety", "Little Libby Lu-Lu" "Cruella" ... lol .

This was her a couple of days after we got her:

Now at 1 years old, she has grown to be the queen of the house, and protects her family. While she still does things that warrants a puppy time out, she is apart of our family. And we love her dearly.

On another note it is very hard to feel festive when the temperature map looks like this:

That would be us just under the 81 in Florida. I have tried to get the Christmas Spirit, but it was awfully hard when I was hanging blankets out to dry and I started to sweat.
The cold weather the rest of you are having is slowly inching this way. Honestly the map looks almost comical- People always think it is automatically 80 when they cross the state line, so now here is the proof.

The kids have wanted to decorate, but I have not been able to do it. It doesn't feel right putting up the tree when it feels like June outside. I did  manage to put up my "Snowy Village" . Fortunately Libby has not chased the cat in to it yet.

I know some of you are wondering what the outcome was with the Christmas Party issue. I got some excellent advice, but in the end, My Auntie showed up for her monthly visit and she had other plans for me today. Yes I am feeling crummy.  "Blah"

Birthday Wishes..

Goes out to my man  SENIOR.   Whether he thinks so or not, today is his special day...
He has gone through a lot in the past two months...and he deserves a wonderful and fabulous Birthday.  Yes, we do have to lay sod for a pregnant neighbor who's husband is deployed for six months, but that is another example of his character, and how we like to help others... even on our Birthdays...

He is a retired Navy Senior Chief,  a soon to be college graduate--which is not easy at his old age.
He coaches  his oldest sons little league team, runs a small business..and has me to live with!
I am so proud of all his accomplishments in life. He is a wonderful and loving husband,  Was a loving son to both his parents, and an excellent Father to his children.

So please help me in wishing him a Very Happy and Wonderful Birthday!

Happy Valentines Day...

That special day is here.. Gather up your sweetie and go out to dinner, or make them a nice surprise. I am currently baking all three of my boys M&M cookies..that is their little valentine present from mommy...
Baseball is in full swing, and both boys have practices tonight. NW finally got drafted and he is a proud little "Dodger"  Senior is helping out with coaching.

I am doing the drawing for the cards this afternoon, so GOOD LUCK to all who entered. Tomorrow I will do a post announcing the lucky ladies who won.

Last night I watched a terrible movie: "Battleship"..  NEVER watch a naval movie with a retired sailor..Senior kept coming in the room pointing out all the errors. I did find it funny when the "Missouri" got underway ...those old guys cracked me up.  All I can say is, thank the Lord I did not pay to see it in a theatre...

In case you did not guess it early this week Today is also my Birthday. Yes I am a valentines baby.   WOW 28 !!! I can't believe it! My day started by getting the boys to school, then I came home, climbed back in bed and buried myself under the covers in a dark room.

My mother called to wish me "Happy Birthday" she then proceeded to tell me that at precisely 5:07am she was awoken with sharp baby pains...but now they have subsided and she felt like she had given birth to a watermelon...lo/. I told her she has to experience it all over again because my sisters birthday is the 16th. : )
Senior all ready gave him his gift, it was my new rifle. We went shooting yesterday and it performed flawlessly..I really love it.
The boys have a little something for me as well, but I guess I will get that when they are home from school. Due to practices tonight, we are doing dinner out tomorrow night..can't decide where to go though.

Now I am off here to make my sister a Birthday card..again HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERY ONE!

Happy Birthday !!!!

Another birthday in our house today. Our little man ND turns 6. Today he gets the best present ever, we are letting him go to his school and meet his new teacher!  Isn't that what every kid wants to do on their birthday?

On birthdays in our house, the birthday person gets to pick the menu for the day. For his special day he has chosen: Chocolate Chip pancakes for breakfast, a lunchable for his little lunch, then NY style pizza for our supper. And oh yes..cake!  He chose a chocolate Transformers Cake...  This will be his second Transformers cake in a row. I have told him that next year, please pick out something else.

He loves his little transformers, and gave me a long list of the new Mini ones he is wishing for...His favorite thing to play with his transformers is crushing the evil democrats. I have blogged about those infamous battles in the past. I am 100%  sure that when he opens his little presents tonight, he will not be disappointed, and more battles in the living room will rage.

So now its off to start breakfast and give our little man a happy birthday ....   : )

Born on the 3rd of July...

Today is our big boys birthday!  ( mom cries).  We have been blessed with healthy and happy babies..and no matter how old they get, our boys will always be mamas babies....

Everyone asks me why didn't I wait and have him on the 4th? That is because I was suffering from preclampsia, and my blood pressure was going through the roof. The whole day on the 3rd I was feeling horrible, I remember cooking a boston butt and homemade mac and cheese. Senior had gone to Home Depot for something, and I called a friend for advice on the way I was feeling. She said get to labor and delivery right now...

Senior came home and we drove the distance to the Naval hospital.
I was very fortunate to have done so..with such a high blood pressure, I could have started to seizure, the staff was ready to transport me to the Trama Center at the University Hospital..NOT a place I actually wanted to go...but they are top notch in emergency medicine.
However, the naval staff got me stablized until the surgeon could come in, and at 945pm that night, I had an emergency C-Section... the whole night was a roller coaster ride of emotions, my immediate family was in the waiting room, and when Senior rolled our precious baby out to meet them..my mother leans in to him and says " I am your Nee Nee"...he started screaming!  lol

So, today the birthday boy has requested batman stuff, and a batman cake..( no parties with friends..as mom is all partied from the previous years)...  He has asked for pancakes for breakfast. and for dinner he would like spicey chicken wings, and my home made mac n cheese. Senior has school tonight so we shall celebrate prior to him going to class.  My sister has given him a giftcard and its burning a hole in his pocket, so I am sure we will go shopping later. Tonight Spider Man 2 is on TV, so we shall settle in to watch and make popcorn...

And then I will do what I always do on his birthday, bring out pictures, and show him his baby album, and reflect and wonder just where did the years all go....
