SENIOR came home just after noon from his sleep over with STEPHEN, DUKE and REBEL.. He was exhausted, guess they had a late night of dancing around the fire and eating those ginormous steaks...
From what I understand there was also coyotes involved.
So I decided to whip up a treat to give him a sugar rush, It is one of the best chocolate chip cookie recipes I have come across and absolutely love. I found it when a friend of mine brought a batch to a party, they were out of this world, and she told me to find the recipe on the back of the Crisco Butter Flavored Can, or the Crisco website.
And boy are they good! I could not get them off the tray fast enough, all the little hands were trying to steal them as fast as I could bake them.
ULITMATE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:
INGREDIENTS:
- 3/4 stick Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
- OR 3/4 cup Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
- 1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 3/4 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 (6 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
- 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans (optional)
PREPARATION DIRECTIONS:
- HEAT oven to 375ºF.
- COMBINE shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Mix into shortening mixture until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- DROP by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.
- BAKE 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies, or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet on a cooling rack. Remove cookies to rack to cool completely.
- If nuts are omitted, add an additional 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.

I made fudge. And the sun is shining on my Sunday afternoon. So I have no reason, except that I believe Chocolate is a major food group.

There is only one cookie type that can claim the name cookie and that is chocolate chip. My wife and I have this argument all the time. No Options added either.
