Back to School, Back to Routine

I was awake at 330am. I kept watching the clock, and counting down the last few hours of summer vacation. WOW! 12 weeks really went fast.
I tossed and turned, and listend to the soft snores of both Senior and Libby. Who knew a puppy could cut down as many trees as she can.
I went to the couch, and it seemed like I had just drifted back to sleep when Senior was standing there telling me the alarm was going off. 5:30 all ready.

Coffee oh how I love thee!   Being the first day of school, I thought would be difficult getting the boys up. But all I did was tell them I finsished building the Lego Police truck that ND got for his Birthday, and they sprang up, and quickly dressed.

Sausage biscuits and chocolate milk for breakfast, brushed teeth, combed hair. Grabbed back packs, and before I knew it we were out the door. We dropped off ND at primary school for his first day of the 2nd grade. It went well. No tears from mom. Big hugs and a kiss from my little man in front of every one.
However, it was not until NW and I were approaching the elementary school, that he turned to me and said " Kiss me and say bye now before you drop me off, I don't want any one to see"   At this point you can imagine how Mom was....
It was a bittersweet moment. We said our good byes, and our "I love yous". Then we pulled up and he jumped out. Anxious and ready for his first day of 3rd grade. I watched as he opened the door to the building. And with that he dissappeared.

The clock goes tick tock, the house is quiet. gone are all the daily noises I have grown accustomed too. Libby and Ruger snooze under the dinning room table.
There is cleaning to do, laundry to hang. Time to get back into a daily routine. But, as I try..my heart and mind are with my little ones.....
