Fluke Flunked... : )

out of all of the loses from this past election--my absolute favorite would be that of Sandra Fluke. Well, that of Wendy Davis's ranks up there too, but this one was first on my list.
you remember  Sandra right? She was the field general for the "war on women" . She went to congress and testified that the government should pay for her birth control.
Well, her bid for California state senate failed miserably and she lost by some 21 % points.

Throughout this entire election season the democrats made the "war on women" a major issue. Kay Hagan (D-NC) introduced a librarian from Chapel Hill that said voting for Thom Tillis would take away her right for birth control. I kid you not when I say the woman even looked like Sandra Fluke, they could have been twins.
And in Colorado, the democrat made it a point to jump on board the "war on women" bandwagon. he made it such a point that Sunday one of his own supporters was heckling him at a campaign stop. His own people were sick of hearing about it.

But, at the end of the night, it was not about a woman's personal choice.... The voters of this country are tired of this, we are exhausted with this issue. It is jobs and the economy not contraception that drove this election. While the national unemployment  rate may be 5.5 %, we care more about the over 20% of unemployed that have stopped looking.

Our voice was heard...now let's see what action is taken. The GOP has been given a second chance.  But, be prepared- I watched BOs presser today, and he made it very clear through his stuttering words, and body language, that he has no desire to work with the new congress. The next two years should be quite interesting...

Despite Popular Belief...

The sky DID NOT fall this morning. ( as predicted by the Liberals )

The sun still rose.
The kids still got up for school.
I still stumbled my way to the kitchen to start coffee and let the dogs out.
The puppy is still chasing the cat around the house, and barking at every leaf that falls from a tree.
Traffic was still out on the roads.
People were still going to work.
The tire store opened sharply at 0800 and actually waited on me.
Senior is out mowing grass
And, there is still a baseball game scheduled for tonight..
Heck! We might even order some concession stand food to celebrate!

And the one thing that was predicted has actually happend:  The obamacare website has crashed.

Its a wonderful feeling knowing that it is the working class people of this country that keeps America running and not politicians.

. Amazing isn't it?

PS: I will add one more thing : I am happy that the Republicans have seemingly stood their ground and not caved in. (yet)

Senior Reminded Me....

Senior lovingly commented to me last night that he would read my blog, but I have failed to post anything in  a week.  "ohhhh" I said.  Lately it seems I havent had that much to say. Monday my doctor put me on some new meds, and frankly it kicks my butt for a few hours. I must adjust and start taking it in the evening--it makes me considerably drowsy. Today I took it, and it was all I could do not to drive off the road, I came home and did something I never do..and that is nap during the day.
But on a good note....I signed up and got a free week at ANYTIME FITNESS....I am trying it out, and considering joining. the past two mornings I have dropped the kids off at school, and proceeded to meet my new BFF: Ms. LifeFitness Treadmill, for our morning walk...she has really been kicking the crap out of me...

This week also had our older son at the doctor, mystery bumps showed up on his chest.."Molluscum Contagiosum"..a viral skin infection that is a member of the pox family. His little belly is covered with small white bumps..he most likely got it from the community swimming pool over the summer..
Unfortantly for him. he will survive and can still go to school.

I watched lots of the RNC--I have a more positive outlook after hearing Romneys acceptance speech. For fun, I would switch over to the "CURRENT" Chanel and listen to the liberal point of view..the best panel they could come up with was Al Gore and Joy Behar...how funny is that?  It was what I thought it would be and that was a Republican bash fest. I did get some inciteful information about the CEO of Costco--he is a huge Obama donor and is a guest speaker next week at the DNC. He also, helped to unionize Costco. And that is not even the worse part..He is buddies with Al Gore!  Our membership ran out this month. There is only one store in my area and it is quite the drive, not sure if we want to renew and make that trip knowing all that I know now....I am kind of bummed.

As good as Romney was, Clint Eastwood was hilarious the whole talking to the empty chair thing had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. But, my new favorite person is Susana Martinez, the Govenor of New Mexico...
Will I watch any of the DNC? no I am going to try not too, curiosty may get the best of me though. I love that the kickoff of the NFL comes the night Bill Clinton is suppose to speak. ..they are on the search for minorities, and 28 out of the 61 speakers are women--and you know what the central message will be : "Romney hates women"

Speaking of liberals, my neighbor "bob the liberal" slapped up Obama window stickers on his house. Do you have any idea how "Trailer park" that looks? and Lord I don't want to offend anyone living in a trailer park...but good lord! Window stickers on a quarter of a million dollar home that is now worth about 100,000 looks gawdy. I guess he was afraid of people trying to steal his yard signs, so far he is the only one I have seen around here in support of the President.  I can almost guarentee that he and his family are on welfare.

Okay, my babble has gone on long enough--kids want to play Xbox--I promise not to be gone for so long again...   : )

The Fence Test

Occasionally my Dad will email me something that I think is worthwhile enough to share with you good folks that read my blog . This is one of them. This is by Jeff Foxworthy and he is a comedian, But with todays political landscape it rings true. Read it yourself and find out which fence you sit on.

If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Democrats demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.
