Wednesday Rain and Pictures...
Its raining, its pouring and the ole man is snoring..literally. : ) Today is 12-12-12 the last date we will see like this for 130 years.. ZOWIE ! Not much longer until 12/21/12 !

Got this one from a friend off Facebook, I am still laughing at it. It was what I needed on this dreary rainy day:

And then there is Herman McCookie of course.. I really did not intend to blog about him every day, but you all have loved hearing of his antics. Plus it does seem to help put me in the Christmas Spirit.
From I understand, Kelly's elf at the Homestead is being just as crafty...I think Snowball and Herman meet up at night for dates and compare notes of the children. Anyways, After school yesterday we made a short trip to walmart. The boys were AWFUL! Herman must have reported back to Santa because this morning not only the kids find him under the tree...but there was a note....
For those of you who can't understand ELFKIN writing it says : "Dear Boys, Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, if you are not nice, Santa said there will be no toys for you.. -Herman"
And once again...ND Screamed...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well the ole man is no longer snoring...so we are headed to the gun range on a rainy day... Enjoy!
Little bit of this..and a little bit of that...
So, I had coffee in hand and decided to give my blog an extreme makeover-christmas edition.
it was a pain trying to figure everything out. But I think its done.... I like the transparent back ground so you can see Santa's dirty laundry.
If you have little ones like Senior and I do, here are a couple of good Christmas links to help get them excited :
SANTAS OFFICIAL REINDEER CAM
PORTABLE NORTH POLE
Our elf was up to his old tricks last night. He took a dry erase marker and made silly faces on the boys school pictures. Thankfully they are in a frame, and the ink wipes off...but seriously Herman? I thought with the soldiers yesterday he would have learned a lesson...but I guess not.
I have been selling older toys that the boys no longer play with on a facebook page called "virtual yard sale". Been doing pretty good as long as I can put up with the BS I get in regards to meeting some of these people.
My point is , I am really seeing how hard the economy is on people.It is making me sad, but yet happy that I know that our gently used toys, will be given a second chance by another child.
I am selling old toys, in order to clean things out and make room for new things. But a lot of the people I am meeting, are selling so they can get money to afford a Christmas for their kids.My county went red in the past two presidential elections, these are good hard working country rednecks. So, I do feel for them, they love their families and kids and want the best for them, even if its second hand.
So much hurt is going on, so many hard times.. But yet, I have to keep my head about it and remember that the majority voted for it.. and now they own it.
Okay, on to something more light hearted..I have a new Favorite Show : DUCK DYNASTY! Oh my Lord is it funny. I am trying hard to get Senior in to , but he loves his "Moonshiners" If you haven't watched it please do...Really good show, that has very little in the way of profanity if any, my boys love it too... so check it out on A&E Wednesdays at 10pm. But they show old episodes prior to 10 so you can get caught up.
and a little FYI about the Dad Phil Robertson, he was the starting QB at one time for Louisiana Tech. and do you know who is back up was? yep! Terry Bradshaw
Busted!
The clock read 6:15am, I had just turned on the coffee pot. I could hear ND and NW all ready up and getting dressed. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw their bathroom light turn on, and then loud screams erupted. All I could hear was stuttering and "Hhhhherman...Oh my gosh!!!!! I dropped what I was doing and went to see why all this chaos so early in the AM... "mom!!!!...the soldiers got him"!!!!!
He was caught sneaking back in last night, after his visit to the North Pole. The soldiers had him held at gun point, and restrained with toilet paper. After they were dressed, the two boys decided to investigate, they found the case for the soldiers was slightly unzipped, and a empty roll of toilet paper left laying on the bathroom floor.
I think Herman and all his creepy sneaking around has finally generated some enemies... This can not be good!
Our Christmas Elf
He has showed up around this time for the past 2 years. Last week we heard a soft knock at our front door, opened it--and there he was standing: "Herman McCookie" was back!. With his showing up to visit we know that Christmas is around the corner.
He is our little happy elf, that carries a book in which he records all the activities of ND and NW, then at night once we are all asleep, He heads back to the North Pole to report to Santa. As secretly has he leaves, he also returns, and lands in a different spot around the house.
He has been on the back of the boys toilet, on my fish tank, on furniture in the living room, and bedrooms.. He even magically showed up last year when we took the boys to Disney World.
They awoke in the hotel room with Herman staring at them from the bed side night stand...
Sneaky little Elf !
However, this morning was by far a first...The boys got up, couldn't find Ole Herman anywhere..With backpacks on they climbed in to the back seat of the car and screamed..there he was sitting in the middle and he even buckled himself in! What a smart Elf he is..thinking of Safety first. : )
We can't wait to see where Herman shows up this year. What new places he will find. I am sure where ever it is, it will be an adventure trying to find him...
