I am the meanest mother...

Call me a terrible mother, but some days the whining and fighting is just too much for me to stand.
There are times when both of these boys remind me of girls.  They argue, fight and yell at each other. And forget sharing anything..the corner does not do the trick any more. I  have to get more tough on them.
So, I threatened military school.

The fear on their faces starts to show, ND starts to tear up...
To add to the fear I went online and found several names of schools that takes small boys. I have also pretended to call the "commander" of the school about picking them up.
I have shown them that your mommy and daddy are not there, and most important there are no toys.

However the fear has fallen on deaf ears this week. So... I showed them the appointment card for new haircuts tomorrow morning. I said you can't go to military school looking like scruffs...
Then I showed them this video:

That's Right! Its a Russian boys military camp!  Oh my Lord, I think the blood drained completely from both ND and NW.
"your sending us to Russia"?  they both asked."But you will miss us"

Well, it did do the trick.. all I have to mention now is "Russia" and they snap too...

I know..I am a mean mother.....

1am Phone Call

Yesterday, it came on like a gang buster--a migraine that is. This blasted cold wind is probably the culprit..It has been relentless here for the past two days and really does need to stop.
 I felt rough, It was just me here with the boys. I rented a movie for them "Hotel Transylvania" and tried my best to rest. As the day progressed so did the migraine...
Finally it was 9pm and they went to bed. I laid on the couch with a ice pack on my head watching "Being Human" then the episode of "Vikings" from Sunday night. That Agatha is one bad Viking Mom!  I want to be like her when I grow up.
after my shows I went to lay in a dark room..I could not sleep. The pain in my head was too intense. its wasn't like a freight train, it felt like the space shuttle launching. I just tossed and turned and begged God to make it stop.

They say after so long of being married to the same person, you are one with that person.You start to look alike, you feel some of the same emotions, and start liking the same things. So, when my cell phone rang at 1am--my first thought it was "Annie" my misery stalker. But It was my Senior.
He was tossing and turning as well in his hotel room. He needed to hear his wifes voice. "awwww"
We hung up a few minutes later, and I finally was able to drift off to a dream filled sleep.

NW had a dermatology appointment today. While we were sitting there quietly waiting to be called in the room, for no reason NW said he would like to have 10 million thousand dollars.. I said if I had 10 million thousand dollars I would get a fully loaded Toyota 4runner 4x4 of course. I  have always liked those and think it would be neat to have the automatic rear window so I can haul Ruger and Libby around and they can see out the back.

ND the little mouth of our family said if he had 10 million thousand dollars--he would buy a jacuzzi. Because he is just so darned stressed all the time from being in the 1st grade and being a professional T-ball player..he needs the warm water to relax and de-stress.

No Spring In Our Break

The storms moved through Saturday, It rained all day. I don't know about other peoples Boxers, but our two wouldn't have any thing to do with the rain. I had to push them both out the door..
We had some minor flooding in the backyard, but it has since dried up.

Now its is Monday, we are enduring high chilly winds, the calendar says March, but the feel like outside says January.
Senior is back up with his dad for a couple of days, no real change, just hoping he can get his hip operated on soon.
ND has been battling the evil empire all day in his Star Wars Xbox game, I am sure "Big Sis" is getting a thrill up her leg watching him through the sensor..lol
 NW is back feeling stopped up and laying in bed watching "Wreck it Ralph"

As for me, the dishwasher went "Wonky" (Kelly's favorite word)..it is 2 years old and I am happy that my Senior had the insight to get the extended warranty, they will be out tomorrow.
I had to play "phone ping pong" with the children's hospital that NW was sent to, our tricare insurance had issues and was with holding payments..finally got it straightened out. Because I would hate to see that bill.

And then on top of it all.. I have a Stalker..  at least that's what Senior is calling her. She is the mother of one of NWs classmates, she is absolutely driving me Wonky (Kelly's favorite word again) by wanting play dates for her boys and ours. She is a single mom, her husband walked out on her last year and I thoroughly believe she has no friends, she is a neurotic nightmare, her house looks like a hoarders house. I was trying Saturday to be nice and get to know her, but she was relentless and I could not get a word in. Then, this morning she called at 7:40..Its Spring Break for crying out loud! the boys and I are sleeping in. Thus the onslaught began..she called my cell, she called our house two time in a row she sent text messages-long paragraph ones... she has even found me on Facebook. Next I expect her to show up at the front door.

When I close my eyes this is the image that appears:

eeek...chilling....

Uh Oh...I knew This was coming..

Looks like It could be "ground hog on the barbie" for dinner in Ohio..

A prosecutor in Ohio is reportedly seeking the death penalty for the famous rodent who emerged from his home in Gobbler’s Knob, Pa., on Feb. 2 and did not see his shadow, translating to an “early spring,” according to his handlers. But Michael Gmoser, prosecuting attorney in Butler County, said Thursday that Phil's inaccurate forecast warrants capital punishment, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

“Let's face it, Punxsutawney Phil has let us down,” Gmoser said, tongue firmly in cheek, after filing the necessary court documents. “I awoke this morning to a snowstorm, low temperatures and howling wind.”

Spring began Wednesday, but local forecasts in the Pittsburgh area and throughout Pennsylvania show a good chance of snow this weekend and into next week.

"Maybe it's time for a Phyllis instead."

This is What is coming down to -Part 2

"Some of the worst things Imaginable, have started off with the best intentions"
-Dr. Grant, "Jurassic Park"

Yesterdays blog post opened up a huge discussion on the issue of privacy with social media pages, and cell phone applications. It also reminds me of the above quote. And how things that were meant to make our life easier and create a more connected society--really isn't working out the way we the cizitens thought they would.
Another blogger this morning Old NFO  has a good post about it, with some articles from CNN and FOX.

During our comments from part 1 of the subject, Matt mentioned an issue with the facebook automatic update. He later emailed me the below image. Thanks Matt for doing that. I have a few apps myself that will do an auto update, and now I am wanting to delete them off. I am also going through my facebook page and making major deletions of photos and any videos I have.

Read, it and understand it well folks... It can record, and take pictures without your confirmation..think about the repercussions of this. You could have your phone sitting on the bathroom counter and be getting out of the shower and it could snap a pic.

Our boys have an Xbox 360. It was a former employee of ours who one day said " You know, if I was you, when its not in use I would turn the sensor portion backwards"
We inquired as to why. And he explained that even though its not in use, it has a camera, and some one could hack in to it and see every thing we are doing....  So, since that day. When the boys are done playing-it gets turned back around and faces away from the living room.

Another thing I don't like is Red Light Cameras. You run one and they have your tag number and can get your address. I don't know the ins and outs of how they work, but you get some nutjob who is responsible for mailing out the tickets, and now they have your address...  Scary to think about!

So, like Ole NFO said.."We have no more privacy". Nothing is sacred anymore. They have enticed us with social media and we in turn have thrown our entire lives out there for the world to see.

This is what is coming down to..

Murphys Law @ Lagniappe's Lair  Has a post today that you should all go over and check out.
This is what its coming down to folks. This is why I am trying my best to wheen myself from posting an abundance of pictures on social media pages. I know we all get caught up in it..but as you see from this story, things are going to the extreme.

I am glad this dad in the story stood his ground and did not give permission for the authorities to enter his home..   Senior and I would have done the same.

Lots on our Plate

 Yesterday I was busy scrubbing the kitchen floor from where ND spilled his little cup of sprite, when my cell phone goes off. Its my sister. she is literally running through the halls of the hospital because My dad has been taken to the ER.

Really? I thought to myself. In what life does both your husbands father and now yours end up in the hospital? Wasn't the trip for NW last week enough. I guess not. Things like this is not good for a person who's trying very hard to stop biting her nails.

My dad has congestive heart failure, and an enlarged spleen. Doctors have told him its time to take the spleen out, its the size of a shoe box. No wonder he was having massive chest pains yesterday.
but he is stubborn, afraid of surgery..and won't do it. We have all told him to listen to his doctors, that it could rupture and he die. It falls on deaf ears.. So, please excuse me for my feelings on the matter now, but if that is how the stubborn ole coot wants to die then so be it.. I have quit wasting my breath.

Thankfully my dad was sent back home, the doctor gave them some mumbo jumbo about all the pollen in the air, flaring up his CHF. I was hoping he would at least spend the night for observation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Senior made it back home yesterday, then we had a baseball game to attend..the little Dodgers tied it up with the Red Sox 12-12. Either the hitting was that good, or the fielding of the ball just that bad..
We have stuck to giving some of the kids on the team nicknames, one long legged kid is named "lumberjack" because when he swings the bat he looks like Paul Bunyon, our catcher is now known as "skip" because when he throws the ball back to the pitcher, he does a little skip...and the pitcher, is now "Lupus" because he looks like the character "Lupus" from the movie "Bad news bears"
ND has t-ball practice tonight, NW has another baseball game Friday night, and ND has a T-ball game on Saturday..whew! see what I mean about lots on our plate?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After we got home last night, I got the boys to bed,popped the top on a cold "smirnoff ice"  and sat down to relax. I got caught up on "Vikings" on History channel..holy cow is it good.
I also told Senior about how Satan in "The Bible" mini series barred an uncanny resemblence to Obama...he came back and told me that the scene was shown on "O'Reilly" last night..and he agreed.

Now its time to make up a grocery list. I have not been to the store all week. We are running out of things. The boys cringed again over pop tarts for breakfast. I am glad  they did not shape it into a gun, or I would be in big trouble...  : )
