Gun Control

A Retired Master Chief friend of ours posted this on his facebook. I just had to share it:

It has already started at Cabala’s Sporting Goods Store. There was a bit of confusion at their store this weekend. When I was ready to pay for my purchase of some ammo, the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me."
Making a mental note to complain to the NRA about these gun control whackos running amok, I did just as she had instructed.
When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out that she was referring to how I should place my credit card in the card-reader.
I have been asked to shop elsewhere in the future. They need to make their instructions to us seniors a little clearer!

The Gun Debate

And I don't meant the one that every one is talking about. This was a gun debate of another form.
A childhood friend of mine recently posted on FB that she is finally wanting a firearm and would like advice on what she should purchase.
Several women gave her  advice, including me. I told her to come over to my place and we could go to the range. I offered to let her fire some of mine, so she can first get a feel for them and learn some of the basics of gun safety.
I also told her that I personally carry a Glock 26 gen4  but that I also have a S&W bodyguard .380 ( and know other women who do as well).  What I decide to carry with me for that day depends on where I am going and what mood I am in. ...  If I truly wished to mess some ones day up, then I would carry my Taurus Judge.

Well, her oldest daughter who is a paramedic chimes in. She first reminded her mother that firearms need cleaning, but that a Glock is a "dry gun" and does not need cleaning,or maintaining. .

I read that comment a few times, scratched my head and before I responded, I sought out Senior for his knowledge...he confirmed what I was all ready thinking..  But I do like to make sure of my facts.
I commented that any fire arm needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly and I think that she meant you can "dry fire" a Glock, but its not a practice I recommend.

Then the conversation then went to : "What if you had to actually shoot someone". Miss EMT, said that if she shot some one then she would only do it in the legs, or arm, and then render first aid until police showed up. She has seen in her career too much blood and death and there is no way she couuld take a human life, because she is in the business of saving them.

I fully understand that sentiment. However, while she is rendering first aid, the bad guy could still hurt a person, and what I commented was that when it comes down to my family and I ,versus some home invader or rapists...then I would shoot to kill. Being Mrs. Nice Lady goes out the window.
I also went on to say that I did not ask to be made into some ones victim, they chose to commit a crime. There is no reasoning with a criminal, there is no talking your way out of it, its either you or them...and I pefer the "Them"  And, in my State her actions could actually get her jail time.

This was Saturday when the conversation took place...Today is Wednesday...still no response.

A 6 yr. Olds Insight on Buffalo Wild Wings

Friday evening was a rare night as of late that we had no baseball games or practices, and Senior was home. It had been a few weeks it seemed since we had done anything as a family.
We ventured into a new sporting goods store and browsed the aisles, like most things these days the items were well over priced. So we left.
As we were driving around the dinner question was asked. Senior said BBQ and I agreed.
ND spoke up and said:

"I would like to go to Buffalo Wild Wings, but they don't let us have our guns, I don't think that's right cause what would they do if a bad guy came in with a gun, and no one had a gun to protect them and he shot every one"?

"Wow ND, " I responded  "that is a good question for a  6 year old to ask". And then I thought about this blog post, because I can bet the majority out there are not aware of the issues with BWW and their stance on gun control.

Buffalo Wild Wings launched this policy in 2009, and regularly issues the following statement when asked about it: “Buffalo Wild Wings respects the right of individuals to carry firearms. However, because we are focused on the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all of our guests, we have elected to exercise our right to restrict the carrying of firearms within our restaurants. We regret any inconvenience this may cause but believe that this policy is in the best interest of all our guests and our Team Members".

Okay, with that statement I do understand it is their establishment and they have the right to invoke it. However, it's pretty bad when a six year old can figure something out that the anti-gun folks can't: And that's making something a gun free zone, makes it that much more attractive to the bad guy.

Then with the paranoia the restaurant chain has caused, there is this recent story :
BWW Waitress invokes no gun policy on police

As far as dinner Friday night, we found a real hole in the wall Pizza place, with the best calzone I have had in years...

Fireside Chit Chat

Yesterday one of our neighbors "E" had a birthday party for her husband "J" It was an all day affair for them. however, since Senior had just got back from seeing his dad, he rested a bit. I cooked him a good supper, then we decided to walk over.
Most every one there was in their late 20s, or early 30s.. We were a bit out of our age group though, Plus we had kids.

"E and J" are good neighbors and we wanted to hang out. Plus, they are very Second Amendment. and Both carry concealed. And they like to camp. It is a hoot though, because She is from Sicily, and being European you wouldn't think her that way.

Senior was in his delight talking about tent and primitive camping with the guys, He really wants to do a trip along the AT (Appalachian trail) preferably in the spring. All he had to do was mention it last night, and all the eyes light up. "J" has trail guides and books on the subject.

Then the conversation turned to gun. One of the wives,"A" was talking about purchasing a new hand gun for her husband. They first couldn't decide between Glock, and Sig Sauer, or something like that..(I did have a rum shot in me, and a rum and coke).  That is when the topic pretty much went to "A" and I  and the men fell silent, as I discussed with her the various hand guns I own and carried. I told her I had to go through a few until I found my perfect one, which of course is my Glock 26 Gen. 4 or as Senior likes to call it "The Baby Glock".  Senior then told the group about one of my first carry guns; the Judge. "J"'s eyes gleamed. perhaps one day I will let him shoot it.  Then "E" came out, and talked about her Lady Smith and Wesson with the laser grips, which led me to discuss my new Smith and Wesson Bodyguard. 380.

I tell ya, nothing beats a warm fire, good drink, and gun talk amongst the girls, We are the new face of the gun owner in this country, and talking about it with these girl last night, just made me believe it even more. So many women carry concealed, women whom you wouldn't even think. It is our voice that will help to save our Second Amendment Rights.

And as far as the guys, well they ended up playing with ND and NW who were a huge hit....

Franken- Feinstein

The monster has been given a jolt of electricity and has come to life.  Today she unveils her assault weapons ban bill.. And will have before her a table of those evil weapons.  I am positive she will prove once again just how  un-educated she is on the proper handling of said firearms and flash them around the room with her finger in the trigger.

It includes 120 styles of rifles, handguns, and shotguns. She wants to create a national gun registry. We will have to supply all serial numbers for our fire arms, our fingerprints, and our photographs for this registry.
This is a massive infringement on our Second Amendment rights and is a slippery slope to slavery.

I say HELL NO.                                      MOLON LABE !

She is out of control , she is a walking yeast infection, and should be the national poster child for Term Limits.

Arming our Schools....

I saw an article  about the school that the political elite of Washington, DC send their kids too . "Sidwell Friends"  with the $34,000 a year parents pay in tuition it also comes with 11 armed guards.  I understand the whole  thing that the kids that attend are of political families and need protection mumbo jumbo. But honestly why is it okay for their kids to have around the clock protection, and our kids can't. Just because of their parents, does that mean their lives are worth more, and our kids are expendable? Whose to say that one of our kids in a normal school isn't going to grow up to be someone great, maybe even a future President.

These are the same parents who are proposing new gun ban legislation, but yet send their kids to the most guarded school in America. Kind of comes along with the Obamacare issue, its good for everyone else except them. People like Feinstein and her cronies are actually coloring the kettle black with this issue.

I would like to get a group of us moms together to go testify before them all. Moms who carry...moms who believe in the second amendment and our rights to bare arms. And Moms who want to see properly trained teachers and school administrators carry. If school districts can't do that, then put some of our unemployed veterans to work as school guards......

Okay,that is my take..
