We Got A New Mosin....

Well we have been kicking the idea around a while, and the opportunity presented itself.
We have a Ruger, now we have a Mosin..  being the gun lovers we are..what else would we name him!

He is 3.3/4 months old
Doberman Pinscher
and because of his age, the breeder all ready did all vaccines, thats right! We don't have to
get anything more done. Unless we want his ears cropped and have him neutered. We got to meet both his parents, and I must say, his daddy was 105lbs and incredibly impressive.  Very well behaved, and super sweet.

We were initially thinking a smaller breed. And I liked some of the terriers I saw. But Senior has wanted a Dobie for ever.
And Ruger was actually suppose to be a dobie, but at the time, The boys were really small, and I wanted a breed that I knew was incredibly kid friendly.

After just one day, I am seeing that Mosin, is a real hoot and a kid himself. He loves Ruger, loves running and playing with the boys,
and has all ready been swatted a few times by Jack the Cat.

Another New Family Member

For two days, Senior has been trying his best to cheer me up..our week ended on a real sad note.
Most of you who read my blog also reads Seniors and so you know. But for those who don't. He told it very eloquently at  Seniors Mess. Please feel free to go over and read his post from yesterday.

Yesterday, we took the boys to a restaurant/game room place..No not Chucky Cheeses..no way, no how!.  Some place better. They had a blast, and it was good to laugh. Then they stayed the night at my parents. Senior and I returned one red box movie and got another : "Act of Valor"...  I didn't think it would end like it did..I cried. It felt kind of good.

Today was another Gun show, our good buddies REBEL,DUKE and SHOOTER STEVE along with his new bride all met up. Since Senior has been working to quit smoking, and doing so quite successfully I let him buy a present. Something he has been wanting to add to the Family:

A WW2 Russian Mosin Nagant, 91-30.
It is in excellant condition and has all matching numbers. Outstanding Bore with tight, sharp muzzle. Cleaned and inspected. complete with bayonet..
I want to totally strip the stock down, sand it, and refinish it..but it was Steve who said not too...that it makes the character of the rifle..and I guess he is right, I just wanted the challange of the job.

Here is some strange girl we found to strike a pose with it...  : )

Spam Can Ammo and other things....

Last night we went shopping for A Mosin Nagant, Senior has been wanting a good reliable Russian rifle. So again we were back at one of our local stores, and found they had a couple for a pretty good deal, for some reason he decided to wait, and opted to buy the crimson trace laser grips for his Glock...  Ok, so now I am jealous.  I got a new set of "Hot Pink" ear protection, now I am shopping around for pink or purple shooting glasses. Afterall, a girl needs to look stylish while killing zombies!

Then I came across a this:  "Spam Cam Ammo" I thought it cool, and worthy of mention on my blog, I guess I am just out of the loop of things, as I have never seen ammo this way...

My new IPOD came today, its really small...I almost feel like I have been ripped off..But I like it because it has the fitness tracker on it, so now It will measure how far and how many calories I burn while walking/exercising.
I got Senior a XBOX kinect game he has been wanting.. BLACKWATER...totally cool, looks hard though. Seems to be  a sort of "training game" as you are virtually shooting and dodging bad guys...hmmm maybe its something to do when we aren't at the range....
