I hope everyone is comfortable with paying over 3.00 a gallon for gas, because its about to sky rocket. Today the administration is set to announce the rejection of the Keystone Pipeline.
For those of you who haven’t kept up, it is a planned pipeline from Obama initially wanted to delay his decision until after the 2012 election, but Congress forced his hand and gave him a 60 day notice.
The work alone on this pipeline would create initially some 20,000 jobs which would potentially grow into 100,000 and give our country a much needed financial shot in the arm.
The reason for rejecting it is Environmentalist concerns and those all important carbon emissions..
In a time when you have Iran , wanting to block the Straits of Hormuz, and threatening Saudi Arabia Nigeria
The only positive I see coming from the rejection of this, would be a nail in the coffin for Obamas re-election. And it would be a weapon for who ever his opponent is in November. And he has to give justification to congress on why he made the decision..
It seems the big "zero" is determined to keep shooting himself in the foot.

DeleteI don't understand the infatuation people have with the golfer in chief. If he's not the antichrist, the devil missed his chance! He has done nothing but destroy what is left of our country. We have got to somehow, someway take her back!

ReplyDeletespeaking from the Canadian point of view - we can't understand why this project hadn't already happened. doesn't it make sense to provide jobs to Canadians and Americans all the while providing our two countries with a way to share natural resources, something we have been doing for quite a long time anyway (lumber, fish, water, etc.)?
ReplyDeletesadly enough, the Chinese have expressed great interest and the Canadian gov really only has two options here. you know which one the majority of Canadians choose.

DeleteOur government says its an environmental issue but if they build it out in to the ocean so Asia can get it, what about that environment? what if there is a major leak in the pipeline hundreds of feet down where no one can reach? at least if its built on land and there is an issue it can be fixed immediately...
