The Saga of Seniors Class Ring.....

Senior was a young sailor 22 years ago, when he was on the side of town he grew up on doing his laundry. He went in to the bathroom of the laundry mat to wash his hands, and left his loose fittting class ring on the sink so ironically he wouldnt lose it. He walked off, leaving it there. At precisely 2am that next morning and nice man walked in to use the restroom, and found the ring, (a name was etched into the shank of it). he tried unsuccesfully to find the owner for back in those times, there was no Internet to ‘Google” someone’s name, or a Facebook to jump on and search. So the stranger put the valuble in a box until the day he could return it to its rightful owner. Senior did search for his ring, but to no avail, all he knew it was gone forever for what was lost was surely never to be found...

Until now… 

I got a call this afternoon, from a stranger who gave me his name and asked what school my husband graduated from. I told him, and he said, I have had his class ring all these years. Recently he said he found it again in a box of items, and decided to try the Internet, and googled senior’s name. He saw our name, on our business website, and took a chance. I got his number to pass on to senior so we can meet this man, buy him a good steak dinner and get back for senior what he lost so many years ago. Senior was quite emotional, see his mother at the time was working 3 jobs, and it was a very expensive class ring. He never told her he had lost it. She passed away three years ago…..  So when you think there are no decent people left in this cold world…think of our story and Seniors class ring, this stranger could have easily pawned it. But he didn’t, he held on to it and did the right thing…….
